Women’s Soccer Suffers First Loss of Season, 4-0 at York College

York, PA, (September 3, 2005) – The DeSales University women’s soccer team suffered its first loss of the 2005 season, falling to York College, 4-0, in non-conference action on Saturday afternoon.
 
        York scored twice in each half to records its first win of the season.  The Spartans out-shot DeSales (1-1 overall), 24-7, and held a 7-1 advantage on corner kicks.
 
        The game-winner came at the 25:49 mark by Ashley Grove on a shot off a DeSales clear of a corner kick.  York scored its second just 2:05 later and Erin Kuhn scored twice in the second half to round out the scoring for the Spartans.  Junior Kelly Hinkle (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) made 11 saves in goal for the Bulldogs.

         DSU returns to action on Wednesday, September 7th as travel to Neumann College for a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
