DeSales Men take Second at Muhlenberg Invitational

Senior Lou Corominas earned another first-place finish, taking first in the 800-meters at the Muhlenberg College Invitational on Friday night.
Allentown, PA, (January 27, 2006) – The DeSales University men’s track and field team took second place at the Muhlenberg College Invitational held on Friday evening at Muhlenberg College.
 
        DSU totaled 138 team points and placed second behind Muhlenberg in the four-team event.  Albright College took third place and Delaware Valley College was fourth.  Five different Bulldogs took first place in their respective events including senior Lou Corominas (Hackettstown, NJ/Hackettstown) who earned his second first place finish of the year crossing the finish line first in the 800-meter race in a time of 2:01.09.
 
        Sophomore Nick Razler (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) took first in the 200-meter dash (24.45), freshman Pat Brophy (Broomall, PA/Marple Newtown) took first in the 55-meter hurdles (8.66), sophomore Jeremy Morse (Ashland, MA/Ashland) took first in the high jump (6-02.00) and sophomore Kevin Anderson (Newport, PA/Newport) took first in the pole vault (11-06.00).
 
        Also performing well was senior Glenn Thomas (Tewkesbury, England/Bredon School) who took fourth in the 55-meter dash (7.01), freshman Liam Coughlin (Castleton, NY/LaSalle Institute) who took fourth in the 200-meters (25.10), junior John Deas (Haverford, PA/Archbishop Carroll) who took third in the 400-meters (54.71) and junior Nick Reichert (Schuylkill Haven, PA/Schuylkill Haven) who took fifth in the 1,500-meters (4:21.54).
 
        Sophomores John Nastus (Somerset, NJ/Rutgers Prep) and Tony Naimo (Northvale, NJ/Bergen Catholic) finished third and fourth in the 3,000-meters with times of 9:26.91 and 9:31.80 and Morse also had a top four finish in the 55-meter hurdles taking fourth in a time of 8.90 seconds.
 
        Freshman Evan Klees (Riverside, PA/Danville) took second in the long jump (5.81 meters), Brophy took fifth in the high jump (5-02.00), junior Gabe Gigliotti (Wilmington, DE/Salesianum) was fifth in the shot put (11.87 meters) and senior Joe D’Arcangelo (Malvern, PA/Devon Prep) took sixth in the shot put (11.56 meters).

        DeSales returns to action on Sunday, February 5th as they travel to the DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University beginning at 10:00 am.
