Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 10, 2006) – The DeSales University volleyball team got back on the winning track on Tuesday evening sweeping Wilkes University, 3-0 (31-29, 30-15, 30-24), in Freedom Conference action.
Freshman Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) continued her excellent play with a team-high 14 kills in the win. The middle hitter combination of junior Molly Motley (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) and sophomore Ashley Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) also played well with Motley totaling nine kills and one block and Grube recording eight kills and three blocks.
Freshman Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had a team-high 21 digs, junior Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) had 11 digs and sophomore Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) had 37 assists and 13 digs in the win.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, October 12th when they travel to Cedar Crest College for a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
