Allentown, PA (October 12, 2006) – Freshman Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) tallied a match-high 21 kills to lead the DeSales University volleyball team past Cedar Crest College, 3-0 (30-22, 30-23, 30-26), in a non-conference match on Thursday evening.
Sophomore Ashley Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) tallied a team-high 11 kills and added two blocks, junior Allie Boyer (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) had nine kills and 11 digs and junior Molly Motley (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) tallied seven kills and a team-high four blocks.
Freshman Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) tallied a team-high 18 digs, sophomore Rachel Koury (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) totaled 15 digs and sophomore Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) handed out 49 assists, which broke her own 3-game match record set last season, and added 15 digs in the win.
The Bulldogs take the weekend off and return to action on Wednesday, October 18th when they travel to FDU-Florham for an important Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
