Camden, NJ (October 24, 2006) – The DeSales University volleyball team snapped its three-match losing streak defeating Rutgers-Camden, 3-0 (30-19, 31-29, 30-24), in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening.
The win gives DSU 10+ wins for the second straight season under second-year head coach Michele Ide. Freshman Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) had another impressive outing collecting 11 kills, 12 assists, three service aces and seven digs in the win. Junior Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) added 15 assists and five digs.
Junior Molly Motley (Hatfield, PA/Lansdale Catholic) totaled seven kills, junior Allie Boyer (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) had six kills and freshman Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) tallied six kills. Sophomore Rachel Koury (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) led the team with 10 digs.
The Bulldogs (10-19 overall) will conclude its season on Saturday, October 28th when they travel to Richard Stockton College for a tri-match with Neumann College beginning at Noon.
