Pomona, NJ (October 28, 2006) – The DeSales University volleyball team saw its 2006 season come to an end with the Bulldogs dropping both matches at the Richard Stockton College tri-match on Saturday afternoon.

 

        DSU fell to the host Ospreys, 3-0 (30-16, 30-12, 30-24) and to Neumann College, 3-0 (30-19, 37-35, 30-19).  In the Stockton loss freshman Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) led the attack with 10 kills and sophomore Ashley Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) had five kills and two blocks.  Senior Michelle Rehnert (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) had a team-high eight digs and sophomore Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) tallied 20 assists.

 

        In the Neumann match, Mellon also had a team-high in kills with 11 and Grube was second with 8 tallies.  Freshman Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had a team-high 13 digs, while Rehnert and sophomore Rachel Koury (Pottsville, PA/Pottsville) each had nine digs.  Uliana finished with 33 assists and two service aces.
