Bethlehem, PA (October 5, 2006) – The DeSales University women’s tennis team suffered its first losing streak of the season falling for the second time in a row, 6-3, to local rival Moravian College in a non-conference match.
Junior Courtney McClurkin (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford) earned two of the Bulldogs (10-3 overall) points with an 8-3 win over Margo Kokolus at the No. 1 singles position and teamed with fellow junior Mary Kate McElvaney (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert) to win at the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-6. Junior Liz Guidon (Northampton, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) also earned a win at the No. 2 singles spot, 9-7.
DSU will return to action on Saturday, October 7th when they travel to The University of Scranton for a very important Freedom Conference match beginning at 1:00 pm.
