Reading, PA (October 7, 2006) – The DeSales University volleyball team dropped two more matches on Saturday afternoon falling to Albright College (3-0) and Gwynedd-Mercy College (3-0) at a tri-match hosted by Albright College.

 

        In the first match the Bulldogs fell to host Albright by scores of 30-20, 30-22, 30-20.  Freshman Jen Mellon (Media, PE/Penncrest) totaled a team-high 12 kills to lead the attack.  Fellow freshman Jeri Detsch (Bethlehem, PA/Dieruff) had seven kills, junior Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) had 14 digs and sophomore Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) had 24 assists and a team-high 15 digs.

 

        In the second match the Bulldogs lost to the Griffins by scores of 30-25, 30-19, 30-21.  Mellon and Detsch each had team-highs of seven kills in the loss and sophomore Ashley Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) had six kills.  Detsch also added a team-high 18 digs, fellow freshman Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) equaled the team-high of seven kills and added 17 digs and Uliana had 23 assists and 11 digs.
