Elizabethtown, PA, (November 18, 2006) – Senior Steve Kriczky (Birdsboro, PA/Daniel Boone) scored a team-high 19 points on Saturday afternoon leading the DeSales University men’s basketball team past PSU-Harrisburg, 119-49, in the consolation game of the Elizabethtown College Days Inn East Blue Jay Classic.

Kriczky averaged 19.5 points over the two games to be the lone Bulldog named to the All-Tournament Team.  He scored 20 points in the opening round loss to #5 Ohio Northern University on Friday night.  The 119 points falls just short of the all-time record of 135 points scored in a game and the 70-point margin of victory also falls just short of the record which is a 75 point win during the 1960-70 season.

The Bulldogs opened up a 65-21 lead at the half and the outcome was never really in doubt.  The win improves DSU to 1-1 overall, while the PSU-Harrisburg falls to 0-3 overall.  DeSales shot 59.2 percent from the field and out-rebounded Harrisburg, 50-22.  PSU canned just 37.7 percent of its attempts and committed 24 turnovers in the loss.

Joining Kriczky in double figures was sophomore Ed Lapinski (Red Hill, PA/Upper Perkiomen) with 11 points and sophomore Matt Zwetolitz (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) with 13 points on 4-for-5 shooting.  All 18 players saw at least five minutes of action in the game and 17 of the 18 players reached the scoring column.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday, November 21st when they travel to local rival Moravian College for a non-conference game beginning at 8:00 pm.
