BOX SCORE

Reading, PA (March 22, 2006) - The Alvernia College baseball team scored early and often to hand the Bulldogs their second straight loss, 13-5, in non-conference action on a cold day in Reading, PA.

The Crusaders (8-4 overall) jumped out early scoring in each of the first five innings including three times in the first inning and five times in the fourth inning to take a commanding 13-3 lead thru five frames.  DSU (5-5 overall) crossed home plate twice in the seventh inning to pull within eight but that ended the scoring for both teams.

Sophomore JT Brotosky (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) suffered the loss, lasting just three innings allowing six hits and four earned runs.  Freshman Andrew Kulhamer (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) and sophomore Jon Kensecki (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) combined to throw three no-hit innings at the end of the game.

Junior Luke Pisker (Oley, PA/Oley Valley) and sophomore Andrew Heard (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) each had two hits and an RBI to lead the Bulldog offensive attack.

DeSales will try to snap its two game slide this weekend as they return to the road to take on Rutgers-Camden at 1:00 pm in non-conference action.
