Senior Matt Reppert earned his second win of the season and his 25th career victory in the 6-3 win over Delaware Valley College on Friday afternoon.

Doylestown, PA, (March 31, 2006) – Senior Matt Reppert (Allentown, PA/Dieruff) earned his second win of the season and the 25th of his career, tying the all-time record for wins in a career as the DeSales University baseball team  rallied past Delaware Valley College, 6-3, in Freedom Conference action on Friday afternoon.

Reppert’s win ties Bret Remel for the all-time lead in school history and improves DSU to 7-7 overall and a perfect 2-0 in Freedom Conference play.  The Aggies fall to 8-7 overall and 1-3 in the Freedom standings.  These two teams are scheduled to meet for the final two games of the three-game weekend series at DeSales on Saturday beginning at Noon.

DVC was on the board first opening up a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the third inning on two hits and a Bulldog error.  The lead was short lived however as DeSales totaled four tallies in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-3 lead.

Sophomore Andrew Heard (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) led off the inning with a triple and scored on freshman Mike Bianca’s (Ellicott City, MD/Mt. St. Joseph) single.  After Bianca stole second base and moved up to third base on a passed ball, sophomore Scott Matejicka (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) hit a two-run home run to tie the game at three.

With two outs freshman John Pisker (Oley, PA/Oley) singled.  Fellow freshman Matt Connors (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) singled just moving Pisker to second and freshman Greg Treat (Concord, NH/Concord) doubled home Pisker to give DSU the lead for good.

Senior Derek Miller (Green Lane, PA/Upper Perkiomen) reached base with one out in the seventh inning on a single and advanced to second after Heard was hit by a pitch.  Bianca singled to knock in Miller and Matejicka hit a two-out single to plate Heard giving the Bulldogs its three run lead.

Reppert lasted six innings allowing six hits and three unearned runs while striking out six.  Junior Jon Kensecki (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) pitched two scoreless innings and freshman Andrew Kulhamer (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) earned his first career save with a perfect ninth inning.  Matejicka, Heard and Bianca each finished with two hits.  Heard scored twice, Bianca knocked in two runs and Matejicka knocked in three runs to lead the offensive attack.
