Men’s Lacrosse drops Sixth Straight, 10-5, to King’s

Sophomore Jay Young scored two goals in the 10-5 loss to King's College on Saturday afternoon.
 
Center Valley, PA, (April 1, 2006) – The DeSales University men’s lacrosse team dropped its sixth straight game to start the 2006 season, falling to King’s College, 10-5, in MAC Conference action on a windy Saturday afternoon.
 
        The loss drops the Bulldogs to 0-3 in the MAC standings and improves the Monarchs to 3-4 overall and 2-2 in the MAC.  A tie game after one period became a two goal halftime lead for King’s after DSU failed to score in the second period.  The Monarchs put the game away in the third period with four goals to DeSales one.
 
        Leading the scoring attack for the Bulldogs was sophomores Jay Young (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) and Dan Thomer (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) with two goals each.  Sophomore Kevin Thomer (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) added a goal and freshman Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) had an assist to round out the scoring.
 
        Freshman William Kehoe (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) made 15 saves for the Bulldogs in his first career start in between the pipes.  Junior Jon-Erik Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) had 10 ground balls for the Bulldogs and senior Dylan Beese (Berwick, PA/Hillsborough) won 12 of 18 face-offs for the Bulldogs.

         The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, April 4th as they host Widener University in another MAC Conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
