BOX SCORE

Bethlehem, PA (April 11, 2006) - The DeSales University men's lacrosse team fell short once again in its bid to get in the win column in the MAC Conference standings falling to local rival Moravian College, 11-4, on a sunny Tuesday afternoon.

The Bulldogs (1-9, 0-6 MAC) fell behind early and had trouble scoring all afternoon as Moravian (3-8, 2-4 MAC) also started slowly on the offensive end but pulled away in the second half for the win.

The Greyhounds led 2-1 after the first period and 4-1 heading into the break.  After outscoring the Bulldogs by a 2-1 margin again in the third period, MC exploded for five goals in the fourth period and cruised to the 11-4 final margin.

Sophomore Dan Thomer (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) led the way with two goals and an assist for DSU.  Sophomore Jay Young (Pittstown, NJ/North Hunterdon) and senior Chris Laveglia (Medford Lakes, NJ/Shawnee) also found the back of the net and sophomore Sam Gobeli (Baltimore, MD/Archbishop Curley) and freshman Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) each added assists in the loss.

Junior Jon-Erik Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) grabbed a team-high nine ground balls and freshman William Kehoe (East Brunswick, NJ/East Brunswick) had 10 saves in between the pipes.

The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, April 13th, traveling to Montclair State University for a non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
