Messiah Cruises past DeSales, 18-1, in Season Finale for Bulldogs

Freshman Matthew Brancaccio scored the lone goal in DSU's 18-1 loss to Messiah College on Saturday.
 
Center Valley, PA (April 29, 2006) – The DeSales University men’s lacrosse concluded its 2006 season losing to playoff bound Messiah College, 18-1, in MAC Conference action.
 
        The Bulldogs finish the year with a 1-14 overall record and an 0-10 mark in MAC Conference play.  Messiah enters the MAC playoffs with a 9-5 overall record and a 9-1 record in conference play.
 
        Messiah scored early and often in defeating the Bulldogs opening up a 5-0 first period lead and a 12-0 lead at the half.  The Falcons led 16-0 after three periods before DSU got on the board in the fourth period on a goal from freshman Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) off a feed from sophomore Tom Carr (Atco, NJ/Paul VI).

         Junior Ben Conory (Easton, PA/Moravian Academy) had 11 saves in the loss.  Messiah out-shot DeSales, 46-32, and grabbed 58 ground balls to DSU’s 31.
