Women’s Soccer Falls in Overtime, 1-0, at FDU-Florham

Senior Kelly Hinkle made eight stops in the 1-0 overtime loss at FDU-Florham on Tuesday afternoon.
 
Madison, NJ (September 26, 2006) – The DeSales University women’s soccer team saw its three-game winning streak snapped on Tuesday afternoon falling to FDU-Florham, 1-0, in overtime in a Freedom Conference game.
 
        The Devils’ Laura Verzi scored the game-winner just 2:28 into overtime on an assist by Amanda Buyes.  FDU (6-3-1, 2-0 Freedom) out-shot the Bulldogs (3-5, 1-1 Freedom), 16-11, and held an 11-4 edge in corner kicks.
 
        Senior Kelly Hinkle (Quakertown, PA/Quakertown) made eight saves in between the pipes for the Bulldogs, while Melissa Braun stopped five DSU shots.

         The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday, September 28th when they host Widener University in a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
