Center Valley, PA (September 28, 2006) – For the second straight match four different players had eight or more kills to lead the DeSales University volleyball team past Ursinus College, 3-0 (30-21, 30-17, 30-16), in a non-conference match on Thursday evening.
Junior Allie Boyer (Douglassville, PA/Daniel Boone) had a team-high 10 kills, freshman Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) had nine kills, freshman Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and sophomore Ashley Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) had eight kills to go along with three blocks.
Senior Michelle Rehnert (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) had a team-high 10 digs and three service aces and junior Gia Zimmerman (Blandon, PA/Reading Central Catholic) also had 10 digs. Sophomore Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) dished out 39 assists and had nine digs.
The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, September 30th when they travel to Susquehanna University for a quad match with Scranton and St. Mary’s College (MD). First match begins at 9:00 am.
