Balanced Attack leads Volleyball to Eighth Straight Win

Freshman Lauren Pacenta had a team-high eight kills in the win over Wilkes.

Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 2, 2007) – The DeSales University volleyball team used a balanced attack to win its eighth straight match, 3-0 (30-17, 30-23, 30-22) over Wilkes University in a Freedom Conference match on Tuesday evening.

Freshman Lauren Pacenta (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) had a team-high eight kills, junior Joann Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) had seven kills and seven digs, freshman Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had six kills and sophomore Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) tallied five kills to lead the Bulldogs attack.

Sophomore Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had a team-high 14 digs, freshman Alyssa Poplaski (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) totaled nine digs and two blocks and junior Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) had 29 assists and eight digs.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Thursday, October 4^th when they host Widener University in a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
