Womens Soccer drops Freedom Opener 2-1 at Arcadia

Junior Jessica Baker scored her team-high sixth goal of the season in the loss at Arcadia.

Glenside, PA (October 6, 2007) – The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its 2007 Freedom Conference season opener at Arcadia University, 2-1, snapping its two-game winning streak and dropping the Bulldogs to 3-8-1 overall and 0-1 in the Freedom.
 
        After Arcadia took a 2-0 lead into halftime junior Jessica Baker (Churchville, PA/St. Basil Academy) got the Bulldogs on the board with her team-leading sixth goal of the season off a centering pass from sophomore Ashley Michener (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge).
 
        DSU was unable to tie the game however as Arcadia held a 10-6 edge in shots and a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore Katie Halpin (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) made four saves in the loss for the Bulldogs.

         DSU returns to action on Tuesday, October 9th when they host Wilkes University in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:30 pm.
