Womens Tennis Records Third Straight 9-0 Win

Freshman MaryKate Boylan improved to 5-6 in singles action this year with the win on Tuesday afternoon.

Center Valley, PA (October 9, 2007) – The DeSales University women's tennis team has recorded three straight wins all by a 9-0 score with its victory over Albright College in a non-conference match on Tuesday afternoon.

The win improves the Bulldogs to 8-3 overall as senior Courtney McClurkin (Collegeville, PA/Spring-Ford) led the way once again winning 6-0, 6-0 in singles and 8-1 in doubles teaming with fellow senior Mary Kate McElvaney (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert).

Other singles winners included senior Liz Guidon (Northampton, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) at the No. 2 spot, freshman Kate Steiner (Walnutport, PA/Northampton) at the No. 3 spot, freshman Jess Smith (Abbottstown, PA/Delone Catholic) at the No. 4 spot, freshman MaryKate Boylan (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks South) at the No. 5 spot and sophomore Nickie Brackbill (Paradise, PA/Pequea Valley) at the No. 6 spot.

In doubles action, Guidon teamed with Smith to win 8-0 at the No. 2 spot and Boylan teamed with Steiner to win 8-2 at the No. 3 spot.

DSU will conclude its fall regular season schedule on Wednesday, October 17^th when they travel to Elizabethtown College for a non-conference match beginning at 3:00 pm.
