Volleyball Falls at Scranton, 3-1

Junior Joann Rivera totaled a team-high 13 kills and two service aces in the loss at the University of Scranton

, PA (October 9, 2007) – The DeSales University volleyball team suffered its second straight defeat falling at the University of Scranton, 3-1 (30-19, 25-30, 30-23, 30-12), in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening at the Long Center.
 
        The trio of junior Joann Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom), sophomore Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) and freshman Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) led the hitting attack once again. Rivera totaled 13 kills and added two service aces, Fehnel had 12 kills and 11 digs, while Mellon tallied 11 kills in the loss.
 
        Sophomore Kerri Andrews (Bethelehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had 25 digs, freshman Alyssa Poplaski (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) totaled 16 digs and junior Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) totaled 42 assists and 14 digs.
 
        DSU returns to action on Saturday when they host its second tri-match of the season with PSU-Berks (10 AM) and Albright College (2 pm).
