Aston, PA (March 11, 2007) – The DeSales University men’s lacrosse team won its second straight game with a 9-7 win over Neumann College in non-conference action on Sunday afternoon in Aston, PA.
The Bulldogs (2-1 overall) opened up a 7-4 halftime lead with five goals in the second period and held off a late rally by the Knights (0-3 overall) to record the win. Four different players tallied goals for DeSales including junior Dan Thomer (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan) with four goals.
Sophomore
Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) and freshman
Matthew Kruszewski (Atco, NJ/Winslow Township) each added two goals and sophomore
Danny Larkin (Holladay, UT/Olympus) scored one goal in the win. Brancaccio and D. Larkin combined to dish out five assists, three by Brancaccio.
Senior Ben Conroy (Easton, PA/Moravian Academy) made his first start of the season and stopped eight shots in recording the win. DSU returns to action on Thursday, March 15th when they host College of Mt. St. Vincent (NY) in a non-conference game. The Bulldogs will be looking to earn its third straight win and tie the team record for consecutive wins.
