Camden, NJ (March 24, 2007) – The DeSales University baseball team was finally able to get a game in on the east coast, traveling to Rutgers-Camden for a non-league game at Campbell’s Field in which fielding miscues late in the game led to a 10-4 loss to the Scarlet Knights.

A tie game at one thru the first four and a half innings was broken open in the bottom of the fifth as Rutgers-Camden (9-7 overall) scored four times (two unearned runs) and followed with five more unearned runs in the bottom of the sixth to build a 10-1 lead.  The Bulldogs (5-4 overall) scored once in the eighth and twice in the ninth to provide the final margin.

Sophomore James Niesuchouski (Chester, VT/St. Dominic) pitched well in the loss, allowing just six hits and two earned runs over five innings.  Sophomore Mike Pennington (Dresher, PA/LaSalle) had two doubles and two RBI’s as DSU totaled seven hits and stole three bases in the loss.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to return to action on Sunday afternoon as local rival Muhlenberg College will travel to Butz Field for a non-league doubleheader beginning at Noon.
