Glenside, PA (March 28, 2007) – The DeSales University baseball team allowed six runs in the sixth inning and eventually fell to Arcadia University, 8-4, in a non-conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
A tie game entering the bottom of the sixth inning was blown open by the Knights (8-3 overall) as they scored six times on five singles to take an 8-2 lead and never looked back. DeSales (6-5 overall) did plate two runs on four walks and an RBI ground out in the top of the seventh to make it an 8-4 game but were unable to muster any more offense.
Senior Jon Kensecki (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) took the loss as he allowed five earned runs over 1.1 innings of work. Junior JT Brotosky (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) had two hits including a double and sophomore Matt Connors (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) went 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two walks.
The Bulldogs will have Thursday off before returning to action on Friday when they host Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
