Men’s Tennis Drops Third Straight, 6-3, at Wilkes

Senior Ernie Justice earned a hard-fought three-set win at the No. 2 singles spot on Saturday afternoon.
 
Wilkes-Barre, PA (March 31, 2007) – The DeSales University men’s tennis team suffered its third straight defeat on Saturday afternoon falling to Wilkes University, 6-3, in an Freedom Conference match in Wilkes-Barre, PA.
 
        After the doubles matches were completed the Bulldogs (1-4, 1-2 Freedom) trailed by a 2-1 margin as juniors Eric Chernuta (Royersford, PA/Phoenixville) and Antony May (Lowell, MA/Lowell Catholic) earned an 8-4 win at the No. 2 spot.
 
        The Colonels (2-2, 1-1 Freedom) took control of the match during singles play, winning four of six singles matches to earn the 6-3 win.  Senior Ernie Justice (Blue Ball, PA/Garden Spot) earned one of the Bulldogs singles wins at the No. 1 spot, 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-4) and freshman Daniel Bullen (Matawan, NJ/St. John Vranney) earned the other win at the No. 6 spot, 6-3, 6-4.

       DeSales returns to action on Tuesday, April 3rd when they host King’s College in another Freedom Conference match beginning at 3:30 pm.
