Madison, NJ (April 11, 2007) – The DeSales University men’s lacrosse team suffered two straight defeats for the first time all season falling to FDU-Florham, 9-3, in an MAC Conference game on Wednesday afternoon.
For the second straight game the Bulldog (7-4, 2-3 MAC) offense struggled scoring just three times on 29 shots as DSU has scored just seven goals in its last two games after averaging 13.6 goals per game in its four-game winning streak at the end of March. The Devils (4-5, 3-3 MAC) had just 30 shots but made the most of them scoring nine times including three tallies in both the third and fourth periods after FDU led by just two goals, 3-1, at the half.
Three different players scored for the Bulldogs including junior
Dan Thomer (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan), freshman
Adam Eddinger (Bally, PA/Boyertown) and sophomore
Andrew Ervin (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy). Sophomore
Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) had two assists and D. Thomer assisted on the other goal to round out the scoring.
Freshman Jarryd Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) made 14 saves for the Bulldogs in the loss and senior Jon-Erik Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) had a team-high nine ground balls.
DSU looks to return to the win column on Saturday, April 14th when they The University of Scranton in an MAC Conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
