Center Valley, PA (April 21, 2007) – Senior Elise Wilk (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy) tossed a three hit-shutout in game one and a complete game victory in game two, while fellow senior Jennifer Cybularz (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Carroll) went 5-for-6 with four runs scored and seven RBI’s to lead the DeSales University softball team to a sweep of Lycoming College on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.
The sweep is the first of the season for the Bulldogs who improve to 11-15 overall and 5-7 in the Freedom Conference, while the losses drop the Warriors to 1-13 overall and 1-13 in the Freedom Conference.
In game one, Wilk recorded her second straight complete-game shutout by allowing just three hits and striking out three to improve to 7-8 on the season. DSU’s 3-4-5 hitters did all the damage at the plate as J. Cybularz went 2-for-3 including a three-run home run in the first inning, sophomore Amanda Kensecki (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI double and freshman Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) finished 1-for-3 with a grand slam home run in the third inning.
Sophomore
Maddie Roxandich (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) also contributed with two hits and two runs scored out of the lead-off hole in the game one win.

In game two, Wilk was one out away from tossing her third straight complete-game shutout but settled for a complete-game win allowing just six hits to earn her eighth win of the season and the 28th of her career. She is now tied third all-time with 28 wins and needs just two more to move into second place all-time. Wilk is also now just 15 strikeouts away from becoming just the second player to ever record 200+ K’s in a career.
Cybularz again provided most of the offense going 3-for-3 with two more runs scored and four RBI’s including her second three-run home run of the day in the fourth inning. Sophomore Kelly Moran (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) was 1-for-3 with a three-run double, sophomore Jamie Pfitzenmayer (Annandale, NJ/Hunterdon Central) finished 2-for-2 with a double and run scored and freshman Emily Hoffman (Laceyville, PA/Wyalusing Valley) had an RBI double and two runs scored in the win.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Wednesday, April 25th when they host Arcadia University in a non-conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
