Softball finishes season with split at Albright

Sophomore Sam Pristash was 5-for-6 in the doubleheader split at Albright College on Wednesday.
 
 
Reading, PA (May 2, 2007) – Sophomore Sam Pristash (Northampton, PA/Northampton) finished the season on a strong note going 5-for-6 in the doubleheader at Albright College on Wednesday and leading the DeSales University softball team to a split with the Lions to finish the 2007 season.
 
        The Bulldogs finish the year with a 16-17 overall record with the split.  DSU dropped the first game, 8-0, as the Lions used a five-run second inning to build a 7-0 lead and never looked back.  DeSales rebounded in the second game with a 10-2 win using a six-run second inning to lead, 7-1, before tacking on three runs in the fifth to win by the eight-run rule.
 
        In the first game, sophomore Jamie Pfitzenmayer (Annandale, NJ/Hunterdon Central) had two of the Bulldogs’ six hits and Pristash went 1-for-2.  Senior Elise Wilk (Philadelphia, PA/Nazareth Academy) suffered the loss allowing five earned runs over 1.1 innings pitched.
 
        In the second game, the offense came alive and Wilk pitched a complete-game allowing just three hits and one unearned run to finish the year with an 11-10 overall record.  She finishes her career ranked second all-time with 31 career victories.
 
        Pristash finished the game a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI’s, Pfitzenmayer had one hit and scored twice, sophomore Kelly Moran (Bethelehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) continued her hot hitting with two hits and two RBI’s and sophomore Amanda Kensecki (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) was 1-for-4 with two RBI’s.

          Seniors Jennifer Cybularz (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Carroll) and Amanda Martinenza (Boothwyn, PA/Garnet Valley) each ended their careers with one hit in the game two win.
