Madison, NJ (September 11, 2007) – The DeSales University field hockey team was shutout for the first time all season falling to Drew University, 3-0, in a non-conference game under the lights at Drew on Tuesday evening.
Drew took a 1-0 lead 18:54 into the game as Hillary DeCataldo scored her first of two goals to give the hosts a 1-0 edge. That score stood into halftime before the Rangers added its second tally of the game, eight minutes into the second half as Nicole DiBattista sent a long pass to Elizabeth Law in the circle and she one-timed a shot past the DSU keeper.
Drew finished its scoring with just two minutes left in the game as DeCataldo scored her second off Law's second assist of the game. The Rangers out-shot DeSales 15-9 and sophomore Molly Pope (Elkridge, MD/Long Reach) made seven saves in between the pipes for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, September 15th when they travel to Ramapo College for a non-conference game starting at 1:00 p.m.
