BOX SCORE

Grantham, PA (September 20, 2007) – The DeSales University men's soccer team fell for the seventh straight time this season on Thursday evening falling to defending national champion, Messiah College, 3-0, under the lights in Grantham, PA.

The game was a rematch of last year's NCAA first round game that saw Messiah (6-1 overall) begins its national championship run with a 2-0 win over the Bulldogs. DSU (0-7 overall) continued with its grueling September schedule playing its third nationally ranked team and its sixth regionally ranked team in its first seven games.

Messiah got on the board at the 19:01 mark of the first half and tallied insurance goals in the 76th and 82nd minute to post the final margin. Senior Rusty Riedmiller (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) made six saves in the loss as the Falcons out-shot DeSales, 24-3.

The Bulldogs will look to get into the win column on Saturday when they return home to host Lebanon Valley College in a non-conference game beginning at 2:00 pm.
