Womens Soccer falls to Catholic, 4-1

Junior Jessica Baker scored her fifth goal of the season in the 4-1 loss at Catholic.

Washington, DC (September 23, 2007) – The DeSales University women's soccer team dropped its third straight game falling at Catholic University in a non-conference game on Sunday afternoon.
 
        DSU was out-shot 19-5 as CUA (6-1 overall) took a 2-0 lead at the 16:50 mark before junior Jessica Baker (Churchville, PA/St. Basil Academy) pulled the Bulldogs (1-6-1 overall) within one at the 26:54 mark with her fifth goal of the season off an assist from freshman Caiti Scott (Schnecksville, PA/Allentown Central Catholic).
 
        The score stood until halftime when Catholic increased its lead just 1:13 into the second half and posted the final margin at the 59:45 mark. Sophomore Katie Halpin (Easton, PA/Notre Dame) made five saves for DeSales in the loss.

       The Bulldogs will return to action on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to York College for a non-conference game beginning at 4:30 pm.
