BOX SCORE

Center Valley, PA (September 24, 2007) – Senior Rusty Riedmiller (Stroudsburg, PA/Stroudsburg) recorded his first shutout of the season to tie the all-time mark as the DeSales University men's soccer team battled The University of Scranton to a 0-0 double overtime tie in non-conference action on Monday evening.

Riedmiller made four saves in between the pipes to record his first shutout of the year and the 16th in his career. He moves into a tie for first place all-time with Rich Lamperti and is now just three saves away from breaking the all-time saves mark. He will enter Wednesday's road game with 229 career saves.

The game was very evenly played with Scranton holding a slim 14-11 edge in shots. The Royals (5-3-1 overall) had four shots on goal, all saved by Riedmiller and saw their best chance come late in the second half when Ryan Drum sent a hard line drive from the middle of the field and just outside the box at Riedmiller but he was able to tap it over the net keeping UofS off the board.

DSU had its best chance also late in the second half when a corner kick saw the ball loose in the box and junior Tim Hall (Montclair, VA/Bishop Ireton) got his foot on the ball sending a shot towards the right post but the ball caromed right back into the box and was cleared before another DSU player could control the rebound. Brandon Dombrowski made just one save as the Bulldogs (1-7-1 overall) had just one of its 11 shots on goal.

DSU will return to action on Wednesday, September 26th when they travel to Keystone College for a non-conference game beginning at 4:00 pm.
