Bulldogs fall to local rival Moravian, 3-0

Sophomore Jen Mellon was one of three players with 11 kills on Tuesday evening.

Bethlehem, PA (September 4, 2007) – Three different players led the way with 11 kills each but it was not enough as the DeSales University volleyball team fell to local rival Moravian College, 3-0 (30-23, 30-27, 31-29) in a non-conference match on Tuesday evening in Johnston Hall.

Sophomore Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest), junior Joann Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) and freshman Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) each had 11 kills in the loss to lead the offensive attack.

Defensively, sophomore Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) continued her strong play with a team-high 19 digs and junior Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) totaled 15 digs and dished out 33 assists in the loss.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Cabrini College for another non-conference match beginning at 1:00 pm.
