Madison, NJ (September 5, 2007) – The DeSales University women's soccer team suffered its second straight loss to start the year as Drew University scored with 10 minutes left to break a 1-1 tie and earn a 2-1 non-conference win on Wednesday evening.
After falling behind early, junior Jessica Baker (Churchville, PA/St. Basil Academy) got the Bulldogs on the board as she took a pass through the defense from sophomore Emily LaDuke (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) and deposited the ball into the back of the Ranger net to tie the game at one.
The score remained tied thru the first-half and much of the second-half before the Rangers struck a the 80:00 minute mark as Megan Fogarty took control of a loose ball in the box and scored past Bulldog keeper, sophomore Katie Halpin (Easton, PA/Notre Dame). Halpin finished with five saves in the loss as Drew out-shot DeSales, 14-8.
DSU will return to action on Saturday when they face PSU-Behrend in the opening round of the Dickinson College Tournament beginning at 2:30 pm.
