Mellons 18 Kills lead DeSales past Cabrini, 3-1

Sophomore Jen Mellon totaled a team-high 18 kills in the win at Cabrini on Saturday.
Radnor, PA (September 8, 2007) – Sophomore Jen Mellon (Media, PA/Penncrest) tallied a team-high 18 kills to lead the DeSales University volleyball team past Cabrini College, 3-1 (30-25, 27-30, 30-28, 30-27), in a non-conference match on Saturday afternoon.
 
        The Bulldogs (3-3 overall) trailed in every game of the match but fought hard late in each game to record the 3-1 win. Joining Mellon with double digit kills was freshman Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) with 10 kills.
 
        Fehnel added a team-high 19 digs and sophomore Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) totaled 17 kills to lead the defense. Junior Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) dished out 39 assists and had four service aces and freshman Alyssa Poplaski (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) had an excellent all-around game with seven kills, 11 digs and three blocks.
 
        The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday, September 11th when they host its other local rival, Muhlenberg College, in a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
