Fehnel Leads DeSales to 3-2 Road Win over King’s

Sophomore Kylie Fehnel had a team-high 17 kills in the win over King's.

Wilkes-Barre, PA (October 1, 2008) – Sophomore Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had a team-high 17 kills leading the DeSales University volleyball team to an important 3-2 road win over King's College in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.

The Bulldogs fell behind dropping the first set, 26-24, before winning sets #2 and #3, 25-12 and 25-21. King's took the fourth, 26-24, and the fifth was tied at eight before DSU rallied for a 7-2 run and a 15-10 win the fifth and final set. DSU is now 12-8 overall and 3-1 in the Freedom Conference, while the Lady Monarchs fall to 14-6 overall and 2-2 in the Freedom.

Leading the attack for the Bulldogs was Fehnel with 17 kills, 16 digs, and two blocks. Senior Joann Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) had 14 kills and five service aces and freshman Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley Park) totaled 13 kills.

Junior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had 22 digs, freshman Cait Trovato (Bethlehem, PA/Notre Dame) totaled 12 digs, and senior Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) finished with 47 assists and 14 digs in the win.

DeSales returns to action on Friday and Saturday when they host the Pita Pit Classic Tournament on Friday night and Saturday in Billera Hall.
