Bulldogs Drop Third Straight, 3-0 vs. FDU-Florham

Seniors Shannon Mascio and Sarah Ball were two of the four seniors honored on Senior day on Saturday.

Center Valley, PA (October 18, 2008) – The DeSales University field hockey team suffered its third straight defeat falling to Freedom Conference foe FDU-Florham, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops the Bulldogs to 6-10 overall and 0-5 in the Freedom, while the Devils improve to 6-8 overall and 1-3 in the Freedom. FDU dominated play out-shooting DeSales, 25-4, and holding an 11-8 advantage in penalty corners.

The Devils scored twice in each half and got on the board at the 9:50 mark when Alex DeVito scored unassisted and Ellen Siracuse scored off a feed from Karlee Teeling just 11 seconds later. FDU added two more goals late in the second half to provide the final margin.

Sophomore Jen Bessinger (Langhoren, PA/Archbishop Wood) made seven saves in between the pipes in the loss.

DSU returns to action on Wednesday, October 22^nd when they travel to Manhattanville College for a Freedom Conference game beginning at 6:00 pm.
