Volleyball Falls in Freedom Title Match, 3-0, at Eastern

Sophomore Kylie Fehnel had a match-high six blocks (five solo) in the loss at Eastern on Saturday.

St. David's, PA (November 8, 2008) – The DeSales University volleyball team saw its 2008 season come to an end with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-16, 25-17) loss at Eastern University in the Freedom Conference championship match on Saturday evening.

The Bulldogs finish the season with a 20-13 overall record, while the Eagles improve to 33-1 and advance to the NCAA Tournament with the win.

Leading DeSales in the loss was sophomore Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) with a tremendous effort totaling a team-high five kills and a match-high six blocks, five of which were solo blocks.

Senior Ashley Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) and freshman Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) each had four kills for DSU. Junior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had a team-high 12 digs and senior Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) finished with 14 assists
