Softball Wins Fourth Straight with Sweep of Elizabethtown

Junior Amanda Kensecki had two hits and two RBI's in the doubleheader sweep of Elizabethtown College.

Elizabethtown, PA (March 15, 2008) – The DeSales University softball team earned its fourth straight victory with a sweep of Elizabethtown College in a non-conference action by scores of 2-0 in each game on Saturday afternoon.
 
        The Bulldogs allowed just allowed just seven hits in the two games as freshman Jen Lococo (Easton, PA/Freedom) and sophomore Kristen Cybularz (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Carroll) each tossed complete-game shutouts to lead DeSales. Lococo allowed just three hits and struck out four in the game one win, while Cybularz allowed four hits and struck out one with no walks in the game two win.
 
        In game one, the Bulldogs got both of its runs in the top of the second inning when freshman Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) laced a two-RBI single plating junior Kelly Moran (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and freshman Kate Steiner (Walnutport, PA/Northampton). Moran and Fehnel each had six of the Bulldogs 10 hits in game one.
 
        In game two, DSU scored both of its runs in the top of the third inning when junior Amanda Kensecki (Bethlehem, PA/Liberty) came thru with the big hit, a two-RBI single plating juniors Maddie Roxandich (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and Jamie Pfitzenmayer (Annandale, NJ/Hunterdon Central).

         DSU returns to action on Thursday, March 27th when they host Montclair State University in a non-conference doubleheader beginning at 3:00 pm.
