The Bulldogs (8-8, 2-1 Freedom) had control of this game from the very beginning scoring three runs in the first inning and two in both the second and third inning to open up a 7-1 lead. DSU broke the game open in the bottom of the fifth inning with seven runs to take a 14-2 lead before the final (19-3) margin was posted. DeSales scored in six of eight innings and had six doubles among its 18 hits.

Junior Nick Repas (Abingdon, MD/Bel Air) started things off in the bottom of the first inning with an infield single to shortstop and after senior Andrew Heard (Alexandria, VA/Hayfield) walked, fellow senior Scott Matejicka (Whitehall, PA/Whitehall) laced a double down the leftfield line to plate both Repas and Heard giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. Matejicka would come around to score on a squeeze bunt from junior Matt Connors (Sewell, NJ/Washington Township) in the inning.

In the second, Heard and sophomore Andrew Feher (Riegelsville, PA/Palisades) each had RBI hits and in the second inning sophomore Doc Neiman (Center Valley, PA/Southern Lehigh) collected an RBI with a sacrifice fly. The seven-run fifth inning was highlighted by a two-RBI single from Connors and featured three Devil errors leading to most of the damage.
