Bulldogs Score First Win of the Season, 7-3 over Misericordia

Sophomore Andrew Ervin was one of three players who picked up four ground balls in the win over Misericordia.

Myrtle Beach, SC (March 6, 2008) – The DeSales University men's lacrosse team earned its first win of the 2008 season defeating Misericordia University, 7-3, in a game played down south in Myrtle Beach, SC.

DSU's solid defensive effort was led by sophomore Jarryd Stamatelos (Cherry Hill, NJ/Cherry Hill West) who made 11 saves in between the pipes. Sophomore Andrew Ervin (Langhorne, PA/Neshaminy) and freshmen Donald Clemens (Baldwin, NY/Baldwin) and Jon Devine (Philadelphia, PA/North Catholic) each picked up four ground balls in the win.

Sophomore Matthew Kruszewski (Atco, NJ/Winslow Township) led the squad with three goals and freshman Whit Bruemmer (Richboro, PA/Council Rock South) had one goal and two assists on the offensive end. Senior Dan Thomer (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan), senior Shane Corley (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) and freshman Drew Artin (Yardley, PA/Notre Dame – NJ) also scored one goal. Junior Matthew Brancaccio (Greenvale, NY/North Shore) and senior Tom Carr (Atco, NJ/Paul VI) each added an assist in the win.

The Bulldogs continue its spring break trip with another game on Saturday vs. Clark University (MA) in Myrtle Beach, SC before returning home.
