Clarks Summit, PA, (August 29, 2008) – Senior German Reyes (Beach Lake, PA/Honesdale) recorded a hat trick leading the DeSales University men's soccer team past Baptist Bible College, 6-0, in a non-conference game and in the season opener for both teams on Friday afternoon.

Reyes scored one goal in the first half to give the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead off an assist from fellow senior David Ackley (North Cape May, NJ/Lower Cape May) and added two more tallies to start the second half. Junior Keith Barry (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) took advantage of his first collegiate start recording one save to record his first-ever shutout in the win. DSU (1-0 overall) out-shot Baptist Bible (0-1 overall), 24-2, and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.

Freshman Derek Long (Wernersville, PA/Conrad Weiser) started the scoring as his header off a centering pass from sophomore Corey Horn (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) put the Bulldogs on the board just 2:02 into the game. Reyes made it 2-0 and junior Tony Aufiero (Wall, NJ/Wall) gave the visitor's a three-goal lead with a penalty kick at the 55:08 mark of the second half.

Long assisted on Reyes second goal and freshman Nick Ranalli (Wildwood Crest, NJ/Cape May Tech) capped off the scoring with a goal off a pass from senior Tim Hall (Montclair, VA/Bishop Ireton) in the 79th minute.

DSU returns to action right away as they host PSU-Brandywine in a non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday afternoon.
