Center Valley, PA (September 18, 2008) – The third ranked team in the country, Messiah College, visited DeSales on a picture perfect Thursday afternoon and handed the Bulldogs' men's soccer team a 3-0 defeat in a non-conference game.

Messiah (5-0-1 overall) opened up a 1-0 lead 6:34 into the game as Nick Thompson scored off a feed from Geoff Pezon, Thompson's second goal of the season. The game remained 1-0 into the half as the Falcons enjoyed an 11-4 advantage in shots at the break.

In the second half Pezon tallied his ninth marker of the season to give the visitors' a two-goal cushion and pushed home their third goal at the 58:51 mark when Trevor Lee scored his third goal of the year, unassisted, to provide the final margin.

DeSales (4-4 overall) was out-shot 22-6 for the game and did not have a corner kick. Junior Kevin Lawrence (Norristown, PA/Kennedy-Kenrick) made five saves in between the pipes for DSU.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, September 24th when they travel to Widener University for another non-conference game beginning at 7:00 pm.
