Madison, NJ (September 23, 2008) – For the first time since the 2006 season the DeSales University volleyball team has dropped a Freedom Conference match, 3-0 (25-20, 34-32, 25-17), at FDU-Florham on Tuesday evening.

DSU (9-8, 2-1 Freedom) had won eight straight regular season Freedom Conference matches and 10-straight overall including the two Freedom Conference playoff matches last year. The Devils (8-9, 2-1 Freedom) snap a two-match losing streak to the Bulldogs including the Freedom Conference title game last year.

Leading DeSales was sophomore Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) with 12 kills and 17 digs. Senior Ashley Grube (Orwigsburg, PA/Blue Mountain) had nine kills and two blocks, while fellow senior Sharon Uliana (Fleetwood, PA/Reading Central Catholic) added 26 assists and seven digs.

Junior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) and sophomore Alyssa Poplaski (Mechanicsburg, PA/Mechanicsburg) each had 17 digs in the loss.

DeSales returns to action on Saturday when they host Gwynedd-Mercy College (10:00 am) and Wesley College (2:00 pm) in a home tri-match.
