Radnor, PA, (September 1, 2009) – Junior Aaron Gildner (Slatington, PA/Parkland) scored the lone goal of the game in the 19th minute of the first half staking DeSales to the first and only lead of the game and the defense did the rest leading the Bulldogs to a 1-0 win over Cabrini College on the road Tuesday evening.

Gildner's tally came off a feed from freshman Steve Krause (New Tripoli, PA/Northwestern). After the nifty pass, Gildner fired a shot into the left corner from about 15 yards out; lighting up DSU's half of the scoreboard mid-way thru the first half.

The rest of the way, DeSales' defense took over; winning head ball after head ball in the defensive end to keep the hard charging Cavaliers scoreless. Senior Keith Barry (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris Central) was terrific in goal, making four saves to record his fourth career shutout.

The win marks the second straight DSU has started the season with a victory and avenges a home loss to Cabrini last season, after the Cavs won a high-scoring 4-3 game in Center Valley, PA.

The Bulldogs return to the pitch this weekend when they travel to Goucher College, taking on Randolph College in the first game of a two-day tournament on Friday and Saturday. Game time on Friday is set for 5:00 pm.
