Volleyball Wins Second Straight, 3-1, over Local Rival Moravian

Bethlehem, PA (September 23, 2009) – The DeSales University volleyball team posted its second straight win, defeating local rival Moravian College, 3-1 (25-18, 25-20, 24-26, 25-14), in a non-conference match on Wednesday evening.

The Bulldogs move over the .500 mark with the win and are now 7-6 overall. Moravian falls to 7-7 overall. DSU hit .194 for the match and totaled seven team blocks.

Leading the way was freshman Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) with seven kills and seven blocks. Sophomore Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) had 10 kills and junior Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) totaled seven kills and 16 digs.

Senior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) added 25 digs and freshman setter Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) finished with five kills, 29 assists, and 20 digs.

The Bulldogs return to action on Friday when they travel down to Alvernia University for a non-conference match beginning a 7:00 pm.
