Bulldogs Make it Three Straight with 3-0 Win over Alvernia

Reading, PA (September 25, 2009) – The DeSales University volleyball team ran its win streak to three straight matches with an easy 3-0 (25-8, 25-3, 25-11) win over Alvernia University in a non-conference match on Friday evening at the Physical Education Center.

The Bulldogs combined for 20 service aces and had a team hitting percentage of .455 with just one error and 26 kills in 55 attempts. Leading the way was sophomore Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) with seven kills on just 12 attempts. Freshman Morgan Hart (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) added six kills and senior Joann Rivera (Bethlehem, PA/Freedom) totaled four kills.

Freshman Justine Mcnulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) totaled 11 assists and four digs, while senior Kerri Andrews (Bethlehem, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had four service aces and nine digs.

The Bulldogs return to action on Wednesday, September 30^th when they host Misericordia University in a Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
