Gwynedd-Valley, PA (September 8, 2009) – The DeSales University field hockey team was unable to get on the scoreboard on Tuesday evening falling to Gwynedd-Mercy College, 3-0, in a non-conference game at the Griffins new field.
The Bulldogs (0-3 overall) had the edge on the stat sheet, out-shooting GMC (2-1 overall), 19-14, and held a 13-8 advantage on penalty corners but were never able to get one past the Griffin's keeper as they for the third time this season.
GMC made it 1-0 at the 10:58 mark when Kerri Boon scored. The Griffins continued to lead by one into halftime and thru the first 15+ minutes of the second half before they extended its lead to two goals on the first of two tallies from Casey Dellostretto that eventually provided the final margin.
DeSales returns to action on Saturday when they travel to Ramapo College for another non-conference game beginning at 1:00 pm.
