Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) had a team-high 13 kills but it was not enough as the DeSales University volleyball team fell in straight sets at FDU-Florham, 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-21), in Freedom Conference action on Wednesday evening.
The loss drops the Bulldogs to 11-13 overall and 2-3 in the Freedom, while the Devils improve to 23-6 overall and 3-2 in the Freedom. DSU hit .155 for the match and had six team blocks, while FDU hit .203 and also had six team blocks.
Hickey added two blocks to her 13 kills. Senior
Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) had nine kills, 11 digs, and two blocks and sophomore
Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) finished with six kills and four blocks.
Sophomore
Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) finished with five kills, 28 assists, and 11 digs, freshman
Emilie Baker (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) totaled four kills, 14 digs, and three blocks, and sophomore
Eden Reichard (Mertztown, PA/Brandywine) added 16 digs.
The Bulldogs take the weekend off and return to action on Tuesday, October 19th when they host Manhattanville College in another Freedom Conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
