Annville, PA (October 18, 2010) – Junior Jonathan Balfour (London, England/Conestoga {PA}) and sophomore Adam Franczak (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth) were each named the Freedom Conference Player and GK/D of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Balfour earns the award for the first time this season while Franczak takes home the honor for the fourth time this season.

Balfour had a hand in three of the Bulldog's four goals this week leading DeSales to a 2-0 record with two crucial Freedom Conference wins. He had one goal in the 2-0 win over Wilkes and had a goal and an assist in the 2-0 win over previously unbeaten Eastern in the game on Saturday. On the year Balfour now has seven goals and six assists for 20 points.

Franczak had another outstanding week registering two more shutouts in two Freedom Conference wins. He made three saves in the 2-0 mid-week win over Wilkes and had four saves in the 2-0 win over Eastern University on Saturday. On the season he now has four shutouts and a 0.68 goals against average for the Bulldogs.

The men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday when they host Misericordia University in another big Freedom Conference game beginning at 3:00 pm.
