Center Valley, PA (October 19, 2010) – The DeSales University volleyball team hit .301 for the match and tallied seven team blocks in cruising past Manhattanville College, 3-0 (25-12, 25-11, 25-10), on Tuesday evening in Billera Hall in Freedom Conference action.
DeSales (12-13, 3-3 Freedom) hit .269 or higher in all three sets and was never really threatened in the match. The Valiants fall to 7-14, 0-6 in the Freedom with the loss.
Leading DSU was junior
Lauren Hickey (Ridley Park, PA/Ridley) with 10 kills. Senior
Kylie Fehnel (Nazareth, PA/Bethlehem Catholic) added nine kills and had four blocks and sophomore
Paige Horrigan (Mohnton, PA/Governor Mifflin) finished with seven kills and two blocks.
Sophomore
Justine McNulty (Collegeville, PA/Methacton) finished with 28 assists and three blocks, sophomore
Eden Reichard (Mertztown, PA/Brandywine) totaled 10 digs, and freshman
Emilie Baker (Pottsville, PA/Nativity BVM) added 11 digs in the win.
The Bulldogs return to action this Thursday when they host Albright College in a non-conference match beginning at 7:00 pm.
